Own a One-of-a-Kind Gingko Leaf Sculpture
For the collector of original art, or to simply add a unique and stunning piece to your home’s décor, revel in the beauty of sculptress Kari von Wening’s Metal Gingko Leaf. Kari’s unique, sought-after and rare sculptures are made from scrap metal, for which history is revealed in its torn disintegrating edges, pitted surfaces, natural patinas, and play of the elements. Her art is usually comprised of remnant shapes and surfaces which bring layers of content to her work. Kari carves shapes with a plasma cutter, welds pieces together and adds acid to further enhance the rusting process. Color is then added by the layering of inks and acrylic enamels. Each piece is then sealed with a clear acrylic coating to keep it in an arrested state of decay and to preserve the color. This one-of-a-kind Gingko Leaf-shaped piece weighs approximately 3 pounds and measures 2.5 feet tall, and comes equipped for easy hanging and was commissioned especially for this Foothill Family Service Benefit!
